Whew! Free weekend from sales!

So, after two weekends of successful sales I have a free weekend coming up ! Yeah! I always forget how hard it is to talk to people for awhile and then have them step away from your table and not buy anything. The economy is talking....met some great and creative people this weekend and hope to have continued creative energy. Thanks to my friend Joanne I have a new book on how to blog as an artist and anxiously looking to read that and find some inspiration!

Hope things are well and you are able to send and receive some fun mail this week!

The Typewriter!

Here she is! It was my grandmother, Florence's, 1941 Royal Typewriter! Isn't it great! It's the one I use for all my cards, tags, etc. It was serviced by ACE Typewriter in N. Portland and they were so great! I asked about a carrying case and he laughed at me! Guess this is the model that stays on the desk to do work!
I enjoy this typewriter immensely and it reminds me of times in the basement when my brother and I were using it and the manual adding machine to be grown ups!
I would eventually like to get another one to use - unfortunately, they don't come with spellcheck!
Hope you are all well and if in Portland - enjoying this gorgeous fall weather we are having right now!
Send a piece of mail today!

Updated Etsy site for Clothespin Cards

So, I am attempting to get this whole electronic marketing thing down, I have posted more things on my etsy site. The website for that is http://www.clothespincards.etsy.com/ so feel free to browse! I found this darling paper at the Dollar Store and thought that it was perfect for invitations for your next bbq! Although it's fall and maybe not time for outside grilling, it is football season and grilling can take all forms! Hope you receive fun mail this week and thanks for looking!

Win some and lose some

Well...Sisters wasn't the place for big sales this weekend. It was cold and the market fluctuations certainly didn't help matters I am sure. Big Thanks to Deb from Wisteria Chic for marketing the heck out of my cards to everyone that came in the door and for making me laugh! The good news is also that my stock is big and will have a trunk show in Eugene on November 1-2, will be at the Trinity Episcopal Sale November 8-9 and the French American International School on December 5-6. I hope to have more up on my etsy shop soon (tomorrow) and will continue to promote, promote, promote so that people still send beautiful paper goods to friends and family. Happy Fall everyone! Send a surprise to someone's mailbox today! Amy

Also, Deb at Wisteria Chic has amazing stuff and she helped me kick this all off last year so please come and support her store as well!

I have huge supply of cards, gift tags, self-adhesive gift tags, and gift bags for sale! The Christmas stock is already ready for the season but I haven't forgotten Halloween and Thanksgiving with lots of goodies for both of those holidays as well.

First post to Clothespin Cards!

Hello friends! I am new to this blog concept but hope that I can be entertaining enough for some readership!

I began my card business, Clothespin Cards when I wanted to do something creative and make some money doing it! I named my business with my grandmother, Florence, in mind. She LOVED getting mail and I loved to send it! Although Florence is a great name, it just didn't fit in with cards so I thought about how she used to hang dry all her laundry with clothespins and there was born Clothespin Cards!

I use her 1941 Royal Typewriter for the words on my cards and then I embellish with fabric paint to give it some dimension. I love all kinds of paper and hope that it shows in my work. As I mentioned, I love to send cards so I hope that my passion for this comes through and others will like to send cards as well. In this electronic age it is so great to still get something fun in your mailbox, isn't it?

I have several shows coming up and will post details soon.

Thanks for reading and hope you get something fun in your mailbox soon!
